If you prefer to explore Naples on your own, there is plenty to see and do in the city. Take a stroll along the bustling streets, soak up the vibrant atmosphere, and admire the stunning architecture. There are also plenty of kid-friendly activities outside of the Entourage like the water slides and water park. The Epic cruise ship has more than enough to keep passengers from getting restless during their vacation. Admittedly, this is a strange concept and I can’t quite figure out the reason behind it but it’s fun to try it once, just to say you did. If you are really looking for some pampering then you can even book a session at the Mandara Spa. We were really surprised to hear that they offer studios for solo travelers as well as their own lounge. This is great for solo travelers, no more single supplementary charges. If you can get over the layout of the cabins and bathrooms, the rest of the ship is great. In addition to the outdoor activities, there’s an indoor bowling alley, Ice bar, video games, library, casino, theater, nightclub, shopping, and more.
This session is a great opportunity to get acquainted with everything the Norwegian Epic has to offer. NCL Norwegian pioneered the freestyle dining concept (eat whenever, with whomever and wherever you want). Expect to pay extra for the speciality restaurants, though there are plenty of spots included in the cruise fare. Most mega-ships feature a massive dining hall with big tables, but Epic goes another route. Closest to the standard here is the 592-seat Manhattan Room, with its two-story windows and a polished dance floor. Enjoy a night of gastronomic proportions at one of our many specialty restaurants.
That promotion only lasted a few days and there was no notice of the discount. It was just visible when selecting the spa package as an add-on. The Norwegian Epic has 19 decks…….pretty much the size of a building! There was so much to explore on this ship and we definitely got our workout in everyday exploring. It’s important to know what is located on each deck as you can decide how close you want your stateroom to be to all the action or how far away. The main dining restaurants on the Epic with a menu that changes regularly as well as a daily / nightly fixed menu for those who don’t appreciate change.
It’s fun and makes for a great photo opportunity with the funky lighting and ice sculptures. Dead center of the atrium and great for people watching. Unfortunately, NCL made the choice to chop off a significant portion of the bar and make it a Starbucks. Where the Atrium Bar used to be a gathering point for social activity and pre-dinner meetups, it’s now just an afterthought and feels like it should be in the lobby of a cheap hotel. I can’t say that I’ve stopped even once for a drink there since this change happened. Just like a typical Las Vegas bar, there are video gambling machines embedded in the bar and you can get just about anything you want.
